Chairman of the Union Island Easterval Committee Lesroy Noel is pointing to a "fun filled package that will thrill, and entice" patrons for 2009. Events begin April 5 with a formal ceremony kicking the 43rd such observation. But as far as Noel is concerned, the Miss Easterval Pageant carded for Saturday April 11 will be the highlight. He dubs it the “mother of all events.'

This year’s festival is observed under the slogan ‘Culture, Sports and fun combined for Easterval 2009. Evidence of cultural variety will see the reappearance of the Tivoli Drummers of Grenada. Sporting highlights will see netball and basketball clashes. The sporting exercise will be a prelude to the Home Coming events with Union Island citizens living in the USA forming teams to take part in both these competitions.

What an awaiting experience, What a time it will be. This nine day fun filling festival has become one of the major events on Saint Vincent and the Grenadines calendar of events.
