Easterval is a unique festival infused with the rich culture of Union Island intermingled with features of various other cultures. The festival has grown significantly over the years, both in size and scope. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the festival and as such we are working assiduously to ensure that the cultural package presented surpasses that of previous years. This year’s festival commences on April17th and concludes on April 25th under the slogan "uniting people, preserving culture for 2011 Easter". Our vision is to present a package which will motivate people of all ages and from all parts of the world to participate in our activities.

Among other new activities such as; "Easter Bunny" parade, "Hats off to Easter," "Reggae meet Soca," this years festival will see the reintroduction of one of the traditional activity. The Easterval Committee in collaboration with the Union Island Sailing Club will host a 2 day regatta on April 23rd & 24th. The event will feature boats from Carriacou, Canouan, Mayreau, Petit Martinique and Union Island. Sailing was the foundation on which the Easter activities were built on 45 years ago, however due to the lack of enthusiasm and boats, sailing has been absent from the festival for more than 25yrs. This year we hope will serve as the resurrection of our sailing tradition in Union Island.
